Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://foregate.gitbook.io/foregate-docs/legal/terms-of-cross-chain-service.md). # Terms of Cross-Chain Service #### Welcome to ForeGate Cross-Chain Services These Cross-Chain Service Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and ForeGate ("ForeGate," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your access to and use of ForeGate's cross-chain deposit and transfer functionality, which is provided in partnership with a third-party cross-chain infrastructure provider Relay & Lifi ("Cross-Chain Partner"). By accessing or using the cross-chain features on the ForeGate platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms in their entirety.**IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY CEASE USE OF THE CROSS-CHAIN FEATURE.** *** 1. #### Description of Cross-Chain Services 1.1 ForeGate has integrated the third-party cross-chain bridge service offered by Relay & Lifi ("Cross-Chain Service") to enable users to deposit and transfer supported digital assets across different blockchain networks for the purpose of participating in ForeGate's prediction markets.1.2 The Cross-Chain Service is operated and maintained by our Cross-Chain Partner Relay & Lifi. ForeGate acts solely as an interface layer connecting you to the Cross-Chain Partner's infrastructure. ForeGate is not the operator, custodian, or controller of the underlying cross-chain bridge protocol.1.3 By using the Cross-Chain Service, you acknowledge that you are simultaneously subject to the terms of service and privacy policy of the Cross-Chain Partner Relay & Lifi , in addition to these Terms ([**Terms of Relay**](https://relay.link/) and [**Terms of Lifi**](https://li.fi/)). *** 2. #### Dynamic Deposit Address — Critical Notice **2.1 Dynamic Address Generation** > ⚠ **IMPORTANT: Cross-chain deposit addresses generated on the ForeGate platform are DYNAMIC. Each address is generated uniquely for each transaction session and may change at any time.** 2.2 **Do Not Save or Reuse Deposit Addresses.** You must not save, bookmark, or reuse any cross-chain deposit address for future transactions. Each time you initiate a cross-chain transfer, you must generate and use a new deposit address obtained in real time from the ForeGate interface at the time of the transaction.2.3 **Real-Time Use Only.** Deposit addresses are valid only for the specific transaction session during which they are generated. ForeGate expressly disclaims any responsibility for funds sent to a previously used, saved, or expired deposit address.2.4 **Consequences of Using an Outdated Address.** If you send funds to an address that was generated in a prior session or is no longer active: * \- Your funds may be permanently lost or irrecoverable; * \- ForeGate and the Cross-Chain Partner are under no obligation to locate, recover, or refund such funds; * \- ForeGate expressly disclaims all liability for losses arising from your failure to use a real-time generated address. 2.5 **Address Verification.** Before initiating any transfer, you must verify that the deposit address displayed on your screen has been freshly generated in your current session. You are solely responsible for confirming the accuracy of the address prior to sending any funds. *** 3. #### Supported Tokens and Chains 3.1 The Cross-Chain Service supports only specific tokens on specific blockchain networks as displayed in the ForeGate interface at the time of your transaction. This list may change without prior notice.3.2 **You must only send supported tokens on supported chains.** Sending unsupported tokens or using unsupported chains may result in permanent loss of funds. ForeGate and the Cross-Chain Partner are not obligated to recover or return any unsupported assets.3.3 You must meet the minimum deposit amount displayed in the interface. Transactions below the minimum threshold may become stuck at the deposit address and will not be automatically processed or returned.3.4 If an unsupported token is sent, such funds will remain at the deposit address until and unless the token becomes supported. ForeGate reserves the right, but has no obligation, to process or return such funds at any time and at any applicable exchange rate. *** 4. #### Transaction Finality and Delays 4.1 Once you submit a cross-chain transfer request, **the transaction cannot be cancelled or reversed.** You are not entitled to any refund after a transfer has been initiated.4.2 Settlement times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Completion of cross-chain transfers may be delayed due to network congestion, blockchain confirmation requirements, bridge liquidity constraints, or other factors beyond our control.4.3 A delay in settlement does not entitle you to any refund, discount, or compensation of any kind. *** 5. #### Third-Party Cross-Chain Partner 5.1 The Cross-Chain Service is provided by a third-party infrastructure partner. ForeGate does not investigate, warrant, or guarantee the continued availability, accuracy, security, or performance of the Cross-Chain Partner's services.5.2 ForeGate is not responsible or liable for any failure, error, exploit, hack, downtime, or loss of funds arising from or in connection with the Cross-Chain Partner's infrastructure, smart contracts, bridge protocols, or related systems.5.3 Your use of the Cross-Chain Service is also subject to the Cross-Chain Partner's own terms of service, which you are responsible for reviewing independently.5.4 ForeGate reserves the right to suspend, replace, or terminate the Cross-Chain Service integration at any time, including in the event that the Cross-Chain Partner's services become unavailable or are deemed unreliable. *** 6. #### Fees 6.1 Cross-chain transactions may incur fees charged by the Cross-Chain Partner, the underlying blockchain networks ("Gas Fees"), or ForeGate's platform. All applicable fees will be displayed in the interface prior to confirmation where technically feasible.6.2 Fees are subject to change based on real-time network conditions and Cross-Chain Partner pricing. ForeGate has no control over Gas Fees or Cross-Chain Partner fees.6.3 In the event of any return or reversal of funds, applicable transaction fees will not be refunded. ForeGate reserves the right to apply an administrative fee of up to 20% of the transaction amount on any returned funds. *** 7. #### User Obligations By using the Cross-Chain Service, you agree that you will: * Always generate a new, real-time deposit address for each transaction; * Verify the deposit address shown on screen immediately before sending funds; * Only use supported tokens and supported blockchain networks; * Meet the minimum transaction requirements displayed in the interface; * Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction; * Not use the Cross-Chain Service to circumvent sanctions, AML obligations, or engage in any illegal activity. *** 8. #### Blockchain and Protocol Risks 8.1 Cross-chain bridge technologies are experimental and carry inherent risks, including but not limited to: smart contract vulnerabilities, bridge exploits, liquidity shortfalls, oracle failures, chain reorganizations, and regulatory actions.8.2 You acknowledge that the use of cross-chain services may result in partial or total loss of funds. You assume all risks associated with cross-chain transfers, including the risk of bridge insolvency or protocol failure.8.3 The transparent nature of public blockchains means your transaction data may be publicly visible. ForeGate is not responsible for any consequences arising from the public visibility of your on-chain activity. *** 9. #### Warranty Disclaimer THE CROSS-CHAIN SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FOREGATE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. FOREGATE MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE CROSS-CHAIN SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. *** 10. #### Limitation of Liability TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FOREGATE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF FUNDS, LOSS OF DATA, OR ANY OTHER LOSSES ARISING FROM:(A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE CROSS-CHAIN SERVICE; (B) FUNDS SENT TO AN OUTDATED, SAVED, OR REUSED DYNAMIC DEPOSIT ADDRESS; (C) ANY FAILURE, EXPLOIT, OR BREACH OF THE CROSS-CHAIN PARTNER'S INFRASTRUCTURE; (D) NETWORK DELAYS, CONGESTION, OR BLOCKCHAIN FAILURES; (E) YOUR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE TERMS.THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF FOREGATE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF FEES PAID BY YOU TO FOREGATE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. *** 11. #### Indemnification You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ForeGate and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Cross-Chain Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your sending of funds to an incorrect, outdated, or unsupported address; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights. *** 12. #### Modifications ForeGate reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Cross-Chain Service at any time without prior notice. ForeGate also reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Cross-Chain Service following any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. *** 13. #### Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration. Class action and representative proceedings are expressly waived.
